Fiber Arts
Our fiber arts area builds strong skills in textile design and fiber construction while promoting experimentation with new methods and cultivating individual expression. С¸£Àûµ¼º½ gain direct experience with weaving, resist dyeing, and sewing as well as textile design techniques like stenciling, photo screen-printing and computer-aided design. Contemporary fiber arts practice allows opportunities to explore social issues and engage in collaboration with a community.
Our Fibers Arts Area is comprised of:
- A weaving studio complete with a variety of looms including a Digital Dobby Loom, floor looms and large tapestry looms
- An area for dying and batik
- A silk screen washing room
- Large silkscreen printing tables
- Large screen capacity silk screen printing image exposure unit with accompanying darkroom
- Sewing Machines
- Computerized Knitting Machines
