Course Description

Intercultural/Global Understanding and You: Why Does С¸£Àûµ¼º½ Care?

Instructor(s): Lenora de la Luna, Education

This course explores issues of diversity, specifically within American higher education and particularly within С¸£Àûµ¼º½ College. The course will introduce students to theory, research, and practice related to diversity topics and will encourage them to develop their own understandings of historical and contemporary issues. С¸£Àûµ¼º½ will examine how we research and think about race, class, gender, sexuality, and other relevant issues. Considering the historical context of diversity in American higher education and increasingly global diversity, students will work towards understanding why С¸£Àûµ¼º½ has set Intercultural and Global Understanding as a goal for student learning and engagement and in what ways curricular and co-curricular programs contribute to meeting that goal.
